Al Cuneo is co-owner and creative director of Cuneo Creative Consultants, a Tallahassee-based creative design and marketing consultancy. With more than 45 years experience in the graphic design industry, he has held many executive-level positions including art director, creative director, account supervisor and partner on the agency as well as client-side. He is also past president of the Tallahassee Advertising Federation and has a passion for graphic design education.
Cuneo brings his award-winning design expertise and a unique creative edge to his clients’ marketing efforts. He specializes in creating ‘brands’ along with numerous collateral products, adverising and retail concepts for numerous local, regional and national companies.
Cuneo has worked with several Fortune 500 companies, including Proctor and Gamble, Flowers Industries, St. Joe Land Co. and was the creative force behind the successful development of the Homes and Land Publishing Company, the nation’s largest real estate publishing entity. He directed the creative and image effort for Killearn Properties which led to national exposure and helped take the real estate company public on the American Stock Exchange. Cuneo has also handled the national advertising effort that helped put St. George Island and Florida’s “Forgotten Coast” on the map as a major tourist destination. This has led to numerous “best beaches” nominations for the island. Cuneo also created hundreds of package food designs for clients, including the name and original “branding” for Nature’s Own® bread, the nations best selling whole wheat bread.
In 2004, his son George Cuneo became partner in the business and is responsible for Cuneo Creative Consultants’ entree into the interactive side of the business. Since then, George has created the on-line presence for over 150 businesses. The Cuneo team brings their experience and creative ingenuity, providing clients with innovative graphics, sales ideas and practical solutions to be utilized in the overall marketing effort.
With extensive print, broadcast, POS and web experience, Cuneo regularly gives speeches and seminars on “It’s Only Creative When it Sells.” Clients include real estate, automotive, retail, insurance, banking, health care, publishing, restaurants and packaged food products.
